Outback Hotspot: Burren Junction

What a great place for silly old buggers to camp, yap and relieve their aches and pains. This is Burren Junction near Walgett, near lightning Ridge, near Narrabri. This a free campsite at a hot mineralized bore pool out in the middle of nowhere. There are about 20 various vans and buses camped here, with many people coming here regularly. The water continually runs from the Great Artesian Basin, 1000 meters below the Earth into the baths, out the overflow and further out where there are a few yabbies to be found. We have stilacastle pointed at the road ready for a quick getaway. If it rains, your vehicle will quickly be bogged in the black soil. But there is not much chance of that as the land is dry and arid. This time HE got up in time to walk in the early dawn to enjoy the golden sunrise, the emus, wallabies and birds of nearby scrubby trees.
